
Emily Grace Shanahan is a fifth-year PhD candidate in Classics, Philology at Cornell University, and a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill with a BA in Classics. She completed her candidacy exams in Homer, Ovid, and Aratus, and her research interests include Homer, feminist and intersectional theories, enslavement, orality and literacy, miracles and natural phenomena. She is also the founder of Diversitas, an organization devoted to expanding diversity in classics at Cornell Univeristy. She has served as president of the organization since 2019.
